Eight years across YouTube, Instagram and web in Tanzania, running the whole chain: storyboard, shoot, edit, publish, and the tracking that says whether it worked.
Blue is employed. Gold is mine. The freelance practice has run under every role since October 2018, and the move from ICT officer to marketing lead at Braeburn in September 2024 was a promotion, not a change of employer.
Channel manager at Murphy Ben International, distributing licensed Bongo film, local movie and stage play content under contract. Thumbnails, titles, tags and description metadata on every upload were mine, which is where the growth came from: the catalogue was fixed, the packaging was not.
Digital media manager at Aznas Arts Centre, launching the roster account for Kikosi Kazi, an eight-member Tanzanian hip hop group. The group's YouTube channel reached the platform monetisation threshold inside the same seven months. I also built the Aznas Arts site with a dedicated subdomain for the roster.
Sole content lead at Braeburn International School in Arusha, taking the school account from 6,000 to 11,200 followers across two academic years. Every follower was organic. There was no ad budget at any point.
Four hospitality and restaurant client accounts, run end to end. Zedlab is an early-stage company, so the role carries the whole chain rather than one slice of it.
Promoted out of ICT into a newly created marketing role covering admissions content, brand communications and student media training, at a British and Cambridge curriculum school spanning pre-primary, secondary and sixth form.
A street dance competition co-founded with a fellow dancer in 2023 and run across four seasons, funded by sponsorship, with its own tier pricing, channels and website.
| Season | Year | What it was |
|---|---|---|
| Season 1 | 2023 | Launch, built on local dancer participation and community support |
| Season 2 | 2024 | Established the festival as a premier dance competition in Arusha |
| Season 3 | 2025 | Categories expanded to All Styles, Duo and Crew, over 40 dancers competing |
| Season 4 | 2026 | Four categories including Amapiano, Afro and Hip hop, opening at Studio54 |
I built the sponsorship structure that funds the event. Three of the four tiers accept equivalent services instead of cash, and a share of what was raised came that way, with sponsors covering event costs directly rather than paying in. Across four seasons that support has covered prize money, music, trophies, branding, drinks and catering.
Directed a team of six across production, event delivery and content capture. Three of the four seasons are on file as raw footage. Season 2 was covered multi-camera, with Canon stills and raw, a Sony body, gimbal work, phone capture and a separate multitrack audio recorder. Season 3 was shot on Nikon. The Season 4 opening was shot by a second operator.
I built and ran the festival's TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Primal channels, and produced the event content that fills them.
Two national institutions were on the client list during this period. Both were delivered as the designer on agency accounts, with Pendeza Studio holding the client relationship.
Alongside those, logos and brand identity systems, print collateral, camera work on client advertising shoots, and a delivered website for a Tanzanian safari tour operator.
Running under every employed role since 2018, with over 100 clients delivered and a repeat client base. Three pieces of it carry the most weight.
The whole chain from storyboard to published post to tracked conversion sits with one person, which is how the content held at 17 to 26 pieces a month without an agency.
